Goddess Mahakali

Great Mother House · 12 June 2025

Kali is the great abyss of the Void, into which all that we know must ultimately pass. It is a vision of universal cremation, where everything that exists in time returns to the void. It is representation of the end of existence, and preparation for a new cycle.
Her yoni is a direct emanation of the cosmic womb of the Great Mother. It is a cosmic black hole absorbing the entire universe. In the next cycle, new universes will emerge from this gate of infinite darkness.

Representing the vast emptiness of the womb of the Great Mother, she simultaneously embodies the fiery power that emerges from it – the primordial cosmic Shakti ( feminine kundalini force ).
Kali stands amidst a mass of alchemical fire, burning away all that no longer serves us and limits us. From this fire is born her infinite power and creative passion. She opens up to us the hidden, wild aspects of our nature, in which our life force is hidden. Kali is there to release the expansion of these suppressed and unacceptable aspects. We can express our deepest passions, regardless of external acceptance or rejection.

She holds her hand in a gesture of fearlessness. Her three eyes represent the past, present and future. She holds a blade that cuts through the dualistic perception of the world. The head in her hand represents the severed illusion of the ego. She rides her partner Shiva, whose white body is covered with cremation ashes, resting in final bliss. There is a saying, “Without Shakti, Shiva is a corpse”

Kali appears to help overcome fears. She brings with her the readiness for something in us to let go. This is not a decision made by the head, but by deep intuition and primordial wisdom.
Kali appears to help look death in the eye, beyond hope and fear. To let go of attachment to a known piece of reality.
If she comes to us spontaneously, her help is there to open the rite of passage.
Kali helps to let go of everything, that prevents life in freedom and fullness. Something must die so that something else can be born. At the same time, she shows that there is no death, only transformation.
